Thanks for your comments GBH and BEC.....love the idea of the top hat on the great tits. They are very classy birds. The nest however is very slow and I'm sure is a 'second home'...we get plenty of those down here Very Happy
Lately I've been a bit too busy to study the comings and goings in my garden but today I spotted a great tit involved in intricate acrobatics on the wool I've put out for them. My heart skipped a beat but the wool didn't come my way so it's either not one of my pair or it is and they have two nests being built. I'll have to spend more time collecting evidence Confused

Doing a Mrs Sherlock Holmes then Sammi!! Great Tit picture very good. Last year I put special wool for them but not one shred ended up in the nest so haven't bothered this time.

Think I'll wait till the weather improves to get my spying suit out Very Happy
Thought I'd do a bit of nest box deconstruction this afternoon. Not mentioning the make or anything but you can guess which one has been taken to pieces. Can you spot the unintended irony in the pics?

They probably sell them saying everything will nest in an open fronted!
Yes, not very deep for a robin nest.

A couple of pics of progress so far. Not much to report really. I may try to put my PC back in place to see if it will monitor one nest. Seems doing any more sends it into a frenzy or rather makes it freeze Confused Brick wall

the pics are not very clear but there is a fair depth of just moss in the GT box but such slow progress. I think only a couple of visits in the morning.
