Hi Sue
Thanks for the pics. I wonder if they use more than one hole for fledging. It would have made it very quick if they do. Don't forget to let us know when the bird party is Roll on the floor laughing we can set up the cameras to capture the event next year. I'm sure mum will be fine and the chicks too. Amazing little birds aren't they?

Hi Sammi, they certainly do. Look at my gallery of pictures and you will see pictures of blue tit chicks in every hole. It is a wonderful sight when they fledge. In fact I will put the link to a fledge of my sons from same type box 3 years ago. Hope you enjoy it, but please turn the sound down (we forgot we were being recorded.

Bird party should be wonderful, can't wait. Laughing

Sue
I'm so glad you did have a family in your nestbox, but sorry you missed them fledge, would love to have seen some great pics, maybe we will when they come into you garden.
As for the item on the females leg, I have seen something like this before on a nature programme, yer know them fat balls yer can buy in the net bags, it turned out to be that, that's why no one should ever use them, because the birds can get their tiny legs & claws caught up. Crying or Very sad

Thanks Sammi, roll on next year when hopefully I can get some more. Did you manage to look at the video? Very funny when I look back, but embarrassing at same time.

A little video of my little birds journey from start to end in my nest box. Unfortunately I don't have the pleasure of viewing from inside this box so thought I'd make my own movie of the outside. A memory for me from 2017 - even if I didn't actually get to see any chicks, but I did hear them lol.

Hi Kathy. Thank you, it is really more for my memories ha ha. Yes can take stills, but lot of the time the birds are a blur because they move so fast. Many of them are just ones captured on my camera as stills anyway. Don't worry I have loads of photos for you to choose from Roll on the floor laughing Roll on the floor laughing Roll on the floor laughing . I have several of other wildlife as well, or would you rather stick to birds from the site? Will wait to here before bombarding you ha ha.

How sweet is this little chap? Never seen one before and yet supposedly very common. There were a pair of them ferociously guarding a small area where we are assuming a nest was. Really lovely. Am I right that it's a Yellowhammer?

Can't go on the calendar Sammi, as wasn't in the garden. Thanks for the comment though.
