I see cuckoos here all the time. The Eurasian one has escaped me, but I put it on my life list as the only one IDd by song alone.

I've been few years now recording birds intensively, but cuckoo I still haven't got, although voice is common here in S Finland in June. It is rather shy, difficult to get close; last night I was recording Luscinia megarhynchos (which is a big rarity here, we have L. luscinia): this rarity allowed me to record at five metres distance, and on the background there was a distant cuckoo.
