Hi all
Just wondered is there any mileage in adding a personal photograph to peoples profiles.
Many may not want to post this but it might be nice to see who everyones talking to
just a thought

Those that want to could always have a picture of themselves as their avatar...........................like me!........for a little while at least!

Hi Dawn - I know its not going to appeal to everyone but I just thought for those who don't mind it might be a bit of fun really.
I'm not sure how to condense a photo down to 6K for an avatar and I think my blue hedgehog looks far better than I do so not sure there to be honest.
As for me I kind of see myself as a mix between Harrison Ford and Conan the Barbarian (although the wife thinks I'm more like Stan Laurel) lol -
What about a members gallery - that could be an idea aswel.
Like I said- I know it won't appeal to everyone but when we did it on one of the rugby forums I visit - it was quite popular and even helped us to recognise each other at matches and quite a few friendships were formed where aotherwise we may have just passed each other in the bar.
Just a thought

I wonder if people really would put their photos in a Members' Gallery? (I'm like Dawn - hate seeing photos of myself). John's in America on a canoeing trip with some friends at the moment, but if people like the idea, I can mention it to him when he returns.
Steve - why not put yours in your own Personal Album?

Steve - I reduced the picture for my avatar using Pixresizer which I mentioned elsewhere http://forum.biggonline.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=6536&highlight=pixresizer#6536.
You can actually choose the number of pixels for width and height and that tends to reduce the file size as well. Might be worth a try.

Hi Elizabeth - it was only a thought really not an issue honest
I might put mine up in my own gallery to make the first move.
It really did prove a good idea on the Celtic Warriors rugby site I contribute on but I know it won't be for everyone.
Trouble is now I'll have to search through all my familytn photo's to find the one of me without three double chins
Cheers All

My problem (or rather salvation) is, that as the photographer in the family, I don't ever have any of me Although that's not to say the family wouldn't like to get their own back

I think it's a brill idea Steve, I'd love to see what everyone looks like . As you say, we could all quite easily sit next to each other in a hide and not know.
Although I do know that Dave doesn't really look like Gary, he's actually yellow and spongey with a big daft grin

Could be useful for watching the sea birds though
