Went to Fairburn Ings a couple of days ago to test out my new camera and I had a great time. There are five hides but the best are "pickup hide" and "Lin Dike hide". This place is a haven for kingfishers, herons and various sandpipers. At one point someone sat next to me with a scope said he saw a Green Sandpiper but it buggered off before I could take a look Sad

There are also all sorts of insect life. The dragonflies are everywhere; I saw quite a few Orcas and I got a picture of a common darter while it was taking a snooze:

The place has lot's of facilities and the nearby village of Fairburn has a nice little pub to go to for some lunch.

I'm definately going again, maybe I might see one of you there!
