I bought the latest copy of the Radio Times today. Laughing

The front cover shows an interesting photo of Kate Humble sitting on a log. She's wearing a rather glamorous green satin gown, with unusual accessories - a captive barn owl on her gloved left hand, and muddy green wellies on her feet!

Hi there

Well fingers crossed the cameras (3 in total with sound) were installed at the nest site yesterday. 1 camera has been exposed, the others will be uncovered in due course. The sound is very good and people are cringing at all the bone crunching going on !

This is an exclusive heads up to BBF members of this years nest, 5 chicks including a runt.

The cameras are hidden in a log covered by reeds, the chap in the photo holding the cameras is Martin Haywood-Smith (amazing wildlife cameraman - google him for his web site and check out his pics) and he also took the snap of chicks on the nest.

If all goes well you will see these chicks later on SW, the otter holts are still empty but there have been visits !

Regards

Huw

PS Elizabeth I will send you a live link for a quick peek.

Hi Emma

Yes I am sure that litle chap will be at the heart of a story, just hope its a good one.

Last year the runt grew to be the biggest hawk in the nest, lets hope the same thing happens this year.

The nest is in the same location at Sculthorpe Moor, in fact its a matter of metres from last years nest (video of last years nest below).
