Unfortunately not. We could always hope that he's now been brainwashed into forgetting he was ever a Goodie! Fingers crossed

Oddie's all right Smile

At least he has personality, even if it's hard to handle sometimes. A lot of presenters on TV are little more than emotionless speaking machines.

Far too much of the wrong sort of personality though - I didn't look at much of Autumnwatch because I couldn't stand him any longer.

I wish they'd get Chris Packham instead. Bill Oddie can be a very annoying little man. Likes to steal the limelight too much and thinks he's still in the Goodies. Rolling Eyes

oddie was really good on birding will bill oddie and oddie goes wild. I think he works best on his own when he is asked to show what he sees.

I wonder how much the producers are asking him to play for laughs?

as it is I find him irritating now

It's frustrating, because when he does scripted films (such as Birding with Bill Oddie), he can be fantastic he really carries you along with his enthusiasm. But when he's doing live shows, especially when there's another presenter involved, he drives me to distraction! They just become Bill Oddie Pantomimes, not shows about wildlife.

I'd love to see Chris Packham get a spot on Springwatch - he's great.

Like Kit says, he's fine on pre-recorded programmes because there's no messing around. If I want comedy, I watch comedy. But on live stuff... URGH... he's unbearable.

LOOK AT ME! I'M BILL ODDIE. I'M FUNNY <insert joke about Kate Humble's tits>...

He's a bit obnoxious, too. On some of his shows he complains about other birders being where he is Question I remember him whinging while sat on a boat travelling to (I think) Holy Island... he just wanted the place to himself. What's that all about? Twisted Evil

And, on top of that, he's a crap live presenter anyway - he just can't do it.

And is there ANYTHING that man WON'T advertise? Jeez.

I'm not deterred from watching because of Bill Oddie but he does spoil it for me. Why, oh why, can't he just stick to being a wildlife presenter without having to be a comedian! I'm all for humour but don't enjoy Bill's "juvenile" joking at all!
