hello all just to say a bittern has taken a stop off at the london wetlands center barns and it is worth a look.

Its been there a while , in fact when I saw it on Friday a woman birder there said someone had reported two there.


Hoping it decides to show itself on Saturday when the BBF are there!!

I was at Barnes last Saturday but the Bittern was hiding so never saw it. The day after I read the reserve report to see a little Egret had flown in and I'd missed that too. Crying or Very sad
Oh well better luck next time Smile

its not as showy as it was last year when it came own 20ft in front of the hide!!

Im guessing from reading some of these links that the BBF regularly meet up at Barnes. Is there a date set for the next meet ?

There isn't a regular programme of meetings at Barnes - it just "happens" when somone suggests it! Laughing Malcolm and I would be quite happy to go there again quite soon though.

the first weekend in march should be ok. Its year-end weekend and whereas normally I have to work this time my bit is running on the monday!!

second weekend in march is out. Hot date!!
