Thank you Karen and GBH,
Probably wont update now until I get my second rooster.
Only so many videos and pictures you can show of the same bird doing the same thing. Laughing

Just popped on for a nosey as had our first taste of a frost this morning - can’t believe you’ve got a rooster Paul - amazing. My son has a blue tit on his box this morning so I have told him to watch in case it’s roosting. Lovely to see so many still on the forum. Take care all, will pop in from time to time now.

Just a little picture below of before and after the led light in this box, Still same camera and I made it fair by grabbing stills from videos unedited etc, You can see the difference a mile off and this is even with me losing some quality by videoing with my iphone off my telly screen.

Gardenature boxes do have windows in the floor but because 90% my boxes on house wall next to the eves of the house it blocks alot of light getting into the window, So leds been a god sent for the wall boxes.

For anyone looking in who doesn't have an account and wants to know the camera used (Alot seem to be asking my via twitter today) I'll list below

Camera in the box is by Gardenature - https://gardenature.co.uk/product/420tvl-camera-only

Led lighting is by greenfeathers which is part of spycameracctv
https://www.green-feathers.co.uk/products/daytime-led-lamp-for-bird-boxes

Here's the picture before and after led light anyway

The 3rd rooster is abit of a mystery so far, Its in the sparrow box, However its roosting on the ledge by the entrance hole and not showing itself in the box.
Well it probably is but my boxes aren't on recorders or nothing so only get pictures and videos when I see it happening myself.

Here's a picture below of the droppings on the floor and picture of the ledge on the box so you get a better understanding.
I believe its probably a sparrow but time will tell

Ah congratulations Paul...3 roosters is great!!!

Nothing at mine. No visits or any activity for over a week or so now. Still quite warm in the evenings though perhaps?

The mystery deepens Paul, never heard of a Sparrow roosting in a box on here so this may be another 1st! We wait and see.
My little one has packed its bags and left after a week residency, perhaps not the 5 * B&B it was expecting! Roll on the floor laughing

Update

Rooster has returned! Think this pattern is similar to last year so might be same bird who knows. It was chilly last night so maybe Box 1 is not that bad after all! Very Happy

Thanks GBH,
Hopefully you get a rooster when it goes colder.

Kathy,
Glad to see your rooster is back! Was a chilly one here lastnight too.
Apparently warming up again in the coming week though.
Did you manage to sort the camera in the box?

GBH
Fingers crossed for you this coming season. Hopefully all your hard work will pay off!

Hi Paul,

Our blue tit rooster used to move up to the camera location high in the box. I have also seen them sleep whilst clinging to the opening of the plastic window.

Good to see you have 3 roosters!

The mystery is over, Its a female sparrow the 3rd rooster. Finally got a small video of her she is roosting on the ledge of the box as stated in last post!
Didn't change the box as its been used for 3 years by them now for nesting so didn't want to take away what they have come to know so same box but led lighting and new camera.
