Yes BTK, switched the camera on at 9am and they was gone, Mums been back a few times nest wriggling and freshing the nest up, Surely she can't be going for a 4th brood?! Confused BTO sites said 4th broods do happen, their nesting season ends next month but I don't know if that's the end of August if so I guess she can squeeze a 4th brood in! Il keep you all posted.

Can happen, as mentioned before I had a record five brood with House sparrows many years ago in my eaves, they just keep going! Needed due to their dwindling numbers I guess. Great news! Laughing

Oh yes BTK,
I remember you saying that, 3 broods is the most have had by them. 2016 and 2017 was two broods. So if they do go for the 4th one I'll be impressed, Very happen with the 3 broods though if not.

Hi Paul
Banana! Glad to read your Sparrows have made it. As BTK mentioned they might surprise you with another brood, but perhaps it would be sensible if they called it a day now what with the food situation and weather!

Anyhow our locals are entertaining us as usual they are being fed Waxies by yours truly and I noticed this morning at breakfast one male trying to stuff 6 mini waxies in his beak, how do they do it? I assume they too have a nest and chicks somewhere!

Bye for now but keep us posted if it does happen.

Looks like the sparrows stopped at the three broods, Probably wise move for them.
I'll be updating all my boxes with led lighting over the next few weeks and updating the sparrow camera.
Probably only pop on here now and again now until I get a little rooster in the coming weeks / months.

Hi Paul

Will be very interested in your ‘LED lighting” can you let me know how it goes and is there much involved in doing it.

My next POA is to buy one of the side entrance boxes, like you keep raving about.......hopefully get it up next month, loads of tits and sparrows round the garden at the moment

Hello Helen,
The leds pretty straight forward, I recommended them to BTK earlier this year when discovering them so I'll paste message from his thread that I wrote about it with pictures, you plug the led light into your camera and the camera power supply powers both the camera and the led lighting

Here's the link to buy the led - https://www.green-feathers.co.uk/collections/accessories/products/daytime-led-lamp-for-bird-boxes
All info is on the website

If anyone is interested in these LED lights I have been testing them out and here is a video of a box of mine with this led light in
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=784UDyHbOjM

Very straight forward to use the led light runs off your camera power supply and it as a sensor on which you hang outside the box which turns the led lighting off when the sun is setting outside so the led lighting is only on during daytime brilliant for such a cheap thing.

Heres a picture of for you with one my old cameras showing you how its set up so you 100% know when it arrives

Here's a picture of it in one of my side boxes that I updated with one few weeks ago.

Not a great photo, looks much better than it shows, lovely colour from the LED, and sharp focus. Really pleased Paul. Thank you.
