The duck is so much drabber than the drake but is unmistakeable with its "spectacles"
The duck was on the Leeds Liverpool canal on the Brierfield side of Nelson in the company of a Mallard triplet group (one duck and two drakes) There was no Mandarin drake in sight.
Have previously seen a Mandarin drake weith a Mallard duck in tow on the H olm at Holmfirth.
