|
|
Hi, we are currently trying to rear 7 orphaned great tit chicks in our home and in about a week's time will need to get them outside into some kind of enclosure to enable them to see other birds, strengthen their wings ready for flying and learn to feed themselves, etc. before we can set them free. We would love to know if anyone has any spare aviary panels or a complete aviary that they no longer want and could either donate or sell to us for a modest price. We are in South West Dorset. Please PM me if you might be able to help! Thanks in anticipation! |

I'm not sure if there is time to join a freegle group and put in a "wanted" message - but it's surprising what is requested and offered on the Waking group. (I use Yahoo).

Thank you Elizabeth - my area is included in the list so that's great. Will join up and see what happens. Looking briefly through I can't see any thing suitable offered so far, but maybe someone will respond when I post my 'wanted' message! Thanks again! |

Garden centres sell fine 'mesh' to keep birds from fruit, also could get bamboo canes and lash them together with mesh over top.....or similar idea

Could you stretch to £80.00? There is a portable avairy on wheels for sale in Wareham, website Gumtree. If interested call Mick on 01929 550615 think is still for sale.

Do you mean a soft flexible mesh - surely the birds might be trapped in this? _________________ Elizabeth |

Thanks for your suggestion Alan! Will bear it in mind but think we may need something sturdier as there are cats in the area, and sparrow hawks....! Good thought though! Cheers! |
