Ha! My little niece spotted them before me. Two red wings in the holly bush right in front of my house...

Red wing, we meet at last!

I was in the local forest park today and the place was full of Redwings! There where coming at me from all directions - and surprisingly tame. Here's a few shaky videos I got while I was up there:

Those two redwings were really going for it, weren't they! My two seemed quite happy to rub along together, although I suppose the furious fights are much more typical of thrush behaviour.

late October 2006 !! Large flocks of both together ... arrived in this area... NW end of Kyle of Sutherland ... I watched them for 2 days eating every Rowan berry in sight ....... the Rowan trees had been laden with fruit ... not a berry to be seen ... after they left ... Had good close views of the birds .. flying from tree to tree .... first time views of so many ..... have not been here in such lge numbers since then (now April 1st 2011)..... no ... this is not an April Fools Day trick !!! )
