Just a little reminder to help hedgehogs:

Please put out a water dish in your front and back garden.

Please don't use slug pellets or pesticides- if hedgehogs eat the dead slugs they will also get poisoned.
Please take care with your fork when turning your compost- there may be a hedgehog there.
Please move your accumulated wood and prunings to a different spot if you want to burn them- thre could be a hedgehog curled up underneath.
Please don't keep your garden too tidy. Leave part untidy, leave nooks and crannies, leave some dead leaves etc for plces to sleep at night.
Please never feed bread and milk because even though they like it, the milk can make them ill.
If you feed them cat food, don't give them fish flavours.
Please report hedgehog sightings.
Please, if you see a hedgehog out in the daytime, put it in a cardboard box, give it food and drink and newspaper bedding and get help or advice for it. If it's out in the daytime, it's in trouble.

I'm sure there are more things

I have a resident hedgehog and he/she is busy around the garden at night getting fat at the moment Smile
I love to watch it and I have been leaving wood, old xmas trees and such around the quiet side of my house. we have a stretch of grass there that we never disturb and the hedgehog seems to like it.
I'm going to put out some water and food for it..which cat food is best?
Also where do I report the sighting of my visitor?
