...Autumnwatch starts on Friday 2 October. It'll be interesting to see how the new format works, I'm quite looking forward to it!

Ah, I just found out that it's on once a week for eight weeks. I always get nervous when I hear about format changes, that's usually TV-speak for budget cuts (exhibit A: Scrapheap Challenge) but this could work! Nice to see Unsprung back too.

Also next week Stargate Universe starts on Sky 1. Wink

Thank you Kit - I bought the new Radio Times last Tuesday but didn't look at it at all, so I was quite unaware of this!

There's information here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00n5bty

And here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0079t1p

Unsprung sounds interesting:

"Autumnwatch Unsprung makes its debut with post-show, audience-led informal live discussion and debate".

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00n6vn5

And I've just realised there's a video link too: http://www.bbc.co.uk/autumnwatch/

Good episode. But I couldn't help but notice Chris' map of the UK was missing more than just correct scale Wink

Was NI missing? I've only just thought about it I was so amused by the squashed map!

I recorded both programmes (I can never stay awake until 9pm! Embarassed ), and have to admit that I fast-forwarded through the rutting deer. I enjoyed the rest of it, though, and it'll be interesting to be able to see wildlife as the season progresses. I think the fact that most of the films shown will have to be pre-recorded will make for better quality. Looking forward to the other episodes!

I know the feeling, but I did watch the webcam for a bit during lunch today and it's nice to watch them in real time, without a commentary. Those deer can really roar! I'd love to hear that in real life someday.

(From a safe distance!)

I forgot Rolling Eyes so watched it all on the pc. Was a good start. I am quite glad that it is not wall to wall - as I never get anything done when Spring watch is on!

I was fascinated to hear that birds can see the earth's magnetic field, but VERY disappointed that Chris didn't actually tell us what it looks like! Laughing
