I'm currently staying at my partners place in Gloucester & yesterday I took her to visit Symond's Yat Rock to see the Peregrines ....

She's a very "new" birder so it was a bit of a gamble .. but it really paid off as they were showing very well & even made a kill whilst we were there .. the female returning to the nest ledge with a hapless pigeon ...

It was a lovely warm, sunny day with some heat haze .. which slightly affected viewing but not too badly .. sadly the nest is too far away to permit decent photography (even with a good Scope/Camera combination) ..

Thoroughly recommend a visit though .. well worth it if you haven't seen Peregrines at their best ..

Link to the Site (with directions) below ..

Bye for now,

Kev ..

Peregrines anywhere are worth seeing....Chichester Cathedral being a good place as Josh says. But seeing them in brill countryside just takes the biscuit as it were! Should be takes the pigeon really!

Symond's Yat is a good place. But then I think most regulars on here know I love the Forest of Dean area!

Having chatted today with friends back home in NE.Lincs ... I discover that Peregrines are also nesting at Lincoln Cathedral & at St James' Church,Louth,Lincolnshire .. (tallest parish church spire in England) ..

I also know of several other urban nest sites including Liverpool & St Pancras Station,London ... good to know that they're doing so well despite their many setbacks .. Laughing

Bye for now,

Kev ..
